Finding my voice

0

I’ve been hearing a lot about fashion blogs and about controversy about the merchandising and monetization of this media. In Brazil, it has become a small war between bloggers and journalists, and it made me realize some things.

I’ve been blogging since 2000, I guess. I had Geocities space and thousands of blogs that worked for me as a daily journal of my teenage adventures. Now, I’m journalist who loves to write in medias I can feel free (what is an impossible goal to achieve when writing to big magazines).

I’m not a fashion blogger and I never intended to be, just because I know nothing about fashion, I only know what I like and what I deeply dislike, but it doesn’t seem to me that I have the ability to say what one should use or not. Even though I don’t feel part of all this polemic, I couldn’t avoid questioning myself about what kind of voice I am and what I want with this blog.

I realized that my interests are limited to photography, “old” styles, like 20’s to 70’s, pin up culture, tattoos. I also would like to share some things about my daily routine, my work and projects. I’m not really interest on creating that kind of content that one shows you some luxurious stuff they purchased. I want this to be a place where I can meet people over the world who likes the same things I do.

So, if you are with me since the beginning, you may notice I changed my side bar and I'm changing the content of the blog  a little too. I still will share beauty tips if they worth it (in my opinion, of course), but I intend to be more dedicated to subjects that are in my heart and in my mind constantly.

I hope you enjoy it!

Big kiss…

Roze & Lenora's wedding

0

Saturday at 13h, there was the wedding of our dear friends Roze and Lenora. At a site in Pampulha (traditional neighborhood of Belo Horizonte), a cozy and intimate ceremony celebrated the consolidation of this couple that makes our joy forever.

I confess I freaked out a little bit about what I'd dress because I'm kind of futile with clothes (another confession) and because I had never gone to a wedding during the day in a country atmosphere (in Brazil, it's very unusual to have weddings during the day). I was afraid to choose something too neat and stay out of context or less tidy and seem to not give a damn about the invitation I received (and I was very happy about it since the beginning, so...). In the end, I used that a long dress, with a very sweet textile.

I have one regret about this day: not having my camera with me. I left home super late and left it behind because I knew I wouldn't have time to check battery and stuff like that. But I made a promise that from now on, even if my only have space for my Sony Cybershot, I'll carry a camera in my purse.

In the absence of my own pictures, I borrowed some I saw in the profile of friends. The first one came from here, the others were from the smart Fernanda who was with her camera!
This wedding was proof that good taste and spontaneity make a great duo.
Cheers to you endlessly, Roze & Lenora!
